Equipment

  • 1 skillet non-stick
  • 1 knife for slicing
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large red onion thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 lemons juiced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • Slice the red onion thinly and mince the garlic. Juice the lemons and set everything aside.
  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tilapia fillets and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add more olive oil if needed. Sauté the red onions and garlic until softened and fragrant.
  • Pour in the lemon juice and stir to combine, cooking for an additional minute.
  • Return the tilapia to the skillet, spooning the onion and lemon mixture over the top. Serve immediately.

Serving

  • Transfer the tilapia to plates, garnish with lemon slices, and serve with your choice of side dish.

Storage

  • Place any leftover tilapia in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat gently before serving.
