Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan lined with parchment paper
  • 1 mixing bowl small
  • 1 knife for slicing

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets skin-on
  • 1 lb asparagus trimmed

Seasoning

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat dry. Trim the woody ends off the asparagus. In a small mixing bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  • Arrange the asparagus on the prepared sheet pan. Drizzle with half of the garlic lemon mixture. Place salmon fillets over the asparagus and drizzle with the remaining mixture.

Serving

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Once the salmon is opaque and flakes with a fork, remove from oven. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Storage

  • Place any leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven or enjoy cold in a salad.

Notes

Pro Tips: Choose salmon fillets that are similar in thickness for even cooking. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer to ensure even roasting. Use a meat thermometer to check that the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F. Experiment with different seasonings like smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
Ingredient Substitutions: You can substitute salmon with another firm fish like cod or halibut. Asparagus can be replaced with green beans or broccoli.
How to Serve: Serve with roasted potatoes or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
Storage & Freshness: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Make-Ahead Tips: You can prepare the seasoning mixture in advance and marinate the salmon for up to 2 hours before baking.
