Equipment

  • 1 glass bowl for marinating
  • 1 sharp knife for chopping
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

Ceviche

  • 1 pound fresh Mahi Mahi cubed
  • 1 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 medium red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 jalapeño seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 ripe avocado diced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut the Mahi Mahi into small, even cubes and place it in a large glass bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the lime, lemon, and orange juices together.
  • Pour the citrus marinade over the fish cubes, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for 15 to 60 minutes.

Serving

  • After marinating, drain excess citrus juice, leaving enough to coat the fish. Mix in the red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and avocado. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips or over a bed of greens.

Storage

  • Transfer leftovers to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.

Notes

Pro Tips: Always use fresh citrus juice for the best flavor. Allow the fish to marinate for at least 15 minutes for the perfect texture.
Ingredient Substitutions: Substitute jalapeño with serrano pepper for more heat. Use grapefruit juice in place of orange for a unique twist.
How to Serve: Serve with plantain chips or over a chilled salad for a refreshing dish.
Storage & Freshness: Best enjoyed fresh. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
Make-Ahead Tips: Prep all ingredients ahead of time and combine just before serving to ensure freshness.
