Fish and Breading

  • 4 grouper fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Sandwich Assembly

  • 4 sandwich buns
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 large tomato sliced

Instructions

Preparation

  • Pat dry the grouper fillets and season with salt and pepper. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with paprika.
  • Dredge each fillet in flour, dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure an even coating by pressing the breadcrumbs onto the fillets.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a skillet to medium-high. Fry the fillets for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the fillets from the oil and drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Let them rest for a few minutes.

Assembly

  • Lightly toast the sandwich buns. Spread tartar sauce on each bun half.
  • Layer each bun with lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a crispy fish fillet. Top with the other half of the bun.

Serving

  • Serve the sandwiches immediately for the best texture and flavor. Optionally, provide lemon wedges and extra tartar sauce on the side.

Storage

  • Store any leftover fillets in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in an oven to maintain crispiness.
