Equipment

  • 1 large skillet
  • 1 large pot for pasta
  • 1 colander

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz fettuccine or linguine
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes optional
  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  • Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Pour in white wine and let it reduce by half. Stir in heavy cream, bringing it to a simmer. Gradually add Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the creamy sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water as needed. Return shrimp to the skillet and mix gently.
  • Transfer the creamy garlic shrimp pasta to serving plates. Garnish with chopped parsley and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately for best flavor.

Storage

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of cream or milk to restore creaminess.
